An April wedding in Oxfordshire, with getting ready photography and the church service in Woodstock. Two photographers to cover the proceedings so that one could be with the bride at her house at the beginning of the day and the other with the groom’s family and ushers at the Feather’s Hotel again in Woodstock. After the service at St Mary Magdalene Church everyone moved on to the reception party at a barn near Cheltenham. The bride and groom took a brief detour in the wedding car to drop in at Blenheim Palace for a few scenic photographs with the palace as a backdrop.

Hi Samantha, Apologies for the delay in getting back to you, we returned from honeymoon late yesterday and have been without internet for the last 10 days!
The photos look great, thank you to Douglas and Rosanna. We will give some thought to the album and which photos we might want in it and come back to you if that's ok. Many thanks, Sophie

These are so lovely !! They are such a wonderful memory of an amazing day!! Thank you XX
One of my oldest friends announced that after 7 years he would marry Louise and make an honest woman of her, we were very happy for the couple amid cries of ‘about time!’
The venue was The Kennels at Goodwood in Sussex, a lovely elegant venue and the private rooms were set aside from for the service and wedding breakfast, and were all decorated with flowers.
Nick and I got ready at The Ship in Chichester and arrived early at The Kennels to check the dining room and name places in the room for the service. I then had to set to work more formally and photographed the guests arriving, the flowers and rooms, before a beaming Louise came down the staircase escorted by her son…
Nick’s two children then delivered their Readings, and before long Louise and Nick were married…
We all had drinks and formal photographs inside as the sun was shining beautifully but it was chilly outside, nevertheless once these family photos were over Nick, Louise and yours truly went for a short bracing walk outside to get one or two photographs of just the couple together before the wedding breakfast was called.
The guests (and wedding photographer) had a superb lunch, enjoyed some speeches, cake and champagne. I was really happy to see Nick and Louise married, I’ve known them both for many years, Nick especially from my military days in the HAC.

Hi Sam, Great pictures! We are thrilled with the results. Best, JP
The venue for the wedding was a lovely old coaching inn that had been beautifully restored. After the service at St Mary’s near by all the guests boarded a red double decker bus to transport them back for the drinks reception in the cobbled courtyard. All the speeches were very good (and I have heard a few over the years) exactly the right length, funny and personal all at the same time. The guests enjoyed roast lamb for the wedding breakfast and danced to Victoria and Martin’s play list until late. Here are a few of the photographs from the day –
Message from the Bride and Groom –
Dear Douglas and Sam
Victoria and I would like to say a massive thank you for the amazing photos that Douglas took at our wedding last Saturday. Not only is the quality and consistency of the photography superb, but it was a pleasure to work with such a professional and unobtrusive photographer. All too often at weddings you see the photographer dominating proceedings trying to choreograph the day to their own agenda. Douglas was the antithesis of this. He captured all the highlights of the day and was incredibly discreet and subtle – a joy to work with.
We are really looking forward to receiving the 6”x4” size prints and a CD(s) of the high res jpegs.
We very much like the effects you have used on the innovations page and we will no doubt get in touch with you to discuss prints of these and possibly the use of digital treatments on other photos.
We are very keen on the album and will let you know our thoughts on the proposed layout in due course.
Thank you so much for everything and please do let us know if you would like us to write a formal review for you, on social media or wherever you prefer. Of course Victoria and I are very happy for you to use any of our comments as part of your marketing and will happily recommend Douglas’s photography to all our friends.
