Why No Flash?
1. Capturing an image without flash preserves all of the background atmosphere and light. Flash on the other hand often reduces the colour of the subject and darkens the background, resulting in very unattractive photographs.
2. It is FAR less intrusive to take a photograph without flash, than to blast away with eyebrow searing flash at every opportunity. The couple can enjoy their day without distraction, especially important during the ceremony.
3. The ideal image can be captured over several frames as the subject is unaware of the photographer's presence, but if flash is used, the camera shy subject just turns quickly away, and the moment is lost with the guest left feeling uncomfortable.
4. The professional series of lenses have higher quality glass and specialist coatings resulting in crisper images with higher colour and contrast accuracy. They do require a much greater depth of knowledge of both the camera and manual exposure to get accurate results, but
the images speak for themselves.
5. Occasionally there will be a colour cast with this 'no flash' policy but now with very sophisticated post production software available at his studio, natural skin tones are preserved.
