What struck me immediately when shooting Lucy and Matts wedding in Stamford in Lincolnshire was the details. An incredible effort had gone into the smallest signs, flowers, place settings, wedding favours, even the storage crates used for flowers had their names ‘branded’ on the sides \u2013 remarkable.<\/p>\n

I started with some shots at Lucy’s home, of bridal preparation, champagne sipping and general getting ready. Avoiding the heavy downpour by mere seconds I arrived at the famous George Hotel in the town centre for the ushers lunch and a short damp sprint up the hill to St Martin’s Church.<\/p>\n

The Order of Service was a work of art, the choice of fonts and layout was very considered, easy to read and stylish. Everyone gathered in the church garden for Matt and Lucy to charge through an avenue of confetti in what was by now very welcome sunshine.<\/p>\n

The George Hotel once more afterwards and the gardens for drinks and formal photographs then moving into the marquee for the Wedding Breakfast where there was a fully working wind up gramophone with a selection of 78’s to provide music, with the instructions laid out in the same style as before. So was the table plan, table names, menu’s and place names.<\/p>\n

There were small individual mini bottles of sloe gin, to get the party atmosphere going, all hand made and annotated by Matt and Lucy which must have taken months of preparation. There were badges and a sweet table, cigars..even a photo booth all with clever M&L signage. I was seriously impressed. The photography was fun and breeze to shoot, with lots of smiling faces and characters to keep me busy all day. The band – ’29 Fingers’ kept everyone on the dance floor until the early hours.<\/p>\n
