Sophie and Richard tied the knot at Chelsea Old Church in Chelsea. The guests arrived and were greeted by Richard, before being encouraged to fill the Church from the front by the Ushers, an issue faced every week I notice! I had the opportunity of two good vantage points, one up in the organ loft with an aerial view of the whole church and the second at the back of the Church looking forward towards the couple exchanging vows. It’s useful to have, where possible, a couple of options, as it does make for a more varied set of images.
A vintage car whisked the couple off to the reception venue ahead of the guests who could easily stroll round the corner. The Chelsea Physic Garden, a hidden gem in SW3, founded in 1673 as a world centre for the study of medicinal plants. It has secret pathways, and an amazing range and assortment of flowers and trees, galleries and a tearoom, but importantly there was also a marquee this time for the guests to enjoy their drinks reception when they weren’t exploring the venue.
There was a very happy atmosphere, over the whole day as was captured in the photographs, the more formal family pictures were taken outside with a floral/Chelsea Town House background, swiftly followed by speeches and cake cutting in the marquee. The happy couple departed in the early evening accompanied by clapping and waving from family and friends.
Dear Sam, Thanks so much for sending these through. They look great. We are in Italy at the moment but will be in touch when we are back. Many thanks again, Sophie
Dear Sam, Thank you so much again for the photos. They are wonderful. We are thrilled with them.
We have just got back from honeymoon and one of the first things my brother said to me was how nice he thought Douglas was, as did my parents. My father very much enjoyed speaking to him the day before at Chelsea Physic Gardens.
Thank you so much for sending through the package to Richard's flat with all the photos, the CD and the mug! You should have seen our surprised faces when we opened the mug! Thank you. We love the package of the CD too with our photo in it - the first framed photo of us.
With many thanks again and best wishes, Sophie
The bride has asked for the wedding photographs to stay private, but here are a few from the day –
Hi Sam, I just wanted to say thank you so so much to Douglas and his lovely assistant for all their hard work and great humour on Saturday at our wedding, they were fantastic. We are boarding the plane now. Thanks again also to you for all your help in organising everything. All the best, Amanda
Dear Sam, Thank you very much for the photographs links and the prompt turnaround, we are over the moon with the collection. The Innovations are fantastic. Regarding the Jorgensen album, thank you for preparing this example. I am almost certain we will order an album on our return. Thanks again, best wishes, Amanda
Thank you for sending through these links. We are absolutely delighted with Douglas' work, as well as with his professionalism, discretion and calmness on the day. Many of our guests commented on this too. From our point of view, he has absolutely nailed this and we will be hard pressed to select a 'winner'.
Thanks again and best regards,
Louise and Adrian were married at Chelsea Old Church and then onto the Bluebird Cafe on Kings Road, London for the reception. What a fun way to travel from the service to the reception in a tuk tuk (like a rickshaw).
Louise and Adrian ordered a beautiful panoramic Jorgensen wedding album
Douglas was wonderful, he is so gentle and unobtrusive but yet always there. Hope Douglas ate something somewhere, we wanted him too and hope he felt he had good access to everyone ?
